A family business
In 2005 Chris and Suzanne Bertenshaw had a dream of moving to the countryside and creating an Holistic Healing and Wellness Centre for all to enjoy, their dream finally manifested into a wonderful reality.

Suzanne is an intuitive and naturally gifted holistic therapist and healer with over 30 years experience of the mind, body and energy work. She has helped transform many people's lives by helping them overcome mental obstacles and grow into their greatest selves.
​
Chris is imaginative and loves to come up with new ideas, also a Reiki/Master and a NLP Master / Trainer, he trained with Richard Bandler the founder of NLP and Paul McKenna and is also an EFT practitioner. He is the architect behind The Old Coach House and how it has evolved into the peaceful haven it is today.
​
Together they make a great team and are the reason the business has done so well. Their dream of living a happy, fulfilling life doing what you love is now a dream shared by many as The Old Coach House 'tribe' continues to welcome in new people every day looking for some relaxation and healing.
​
Family is very important here, and when you visit you will no doubt meet them all with 3 generations all living and working within the grounds! Margaret Suzanne's mum is also a brilliant therapist and energy worker, Michael Suzanne's dad is the handy man and all around 'fix it' guy and Stephanie, Chris and Suzanne's daughter is the newly appointed Manager and in charge of design and marketing. You will often also be greeted by our family dogs: Lola, Buddy, Poppy and Benji.
There are also other fabulous team members, who since working here have become like family too.

I love attending the Yoga Classes here in The Garden Room, then treating myself to a lovely meal out with friends. Family time is also very important!

What do you enjoy doing when not working?
Spending time with family and testing out the local Cafe culture. I'll also probably have my nose in my notepad designing the newest Coach House architectural creation.

I love walking my dogs around the sites of Marsden and Slaithwaite or meeting with friends for a few drinks. When feeling productive you might also find me doing some kind of DIY on my house as my work here is never finished!

Since opening The Centre, our tribe has grown every year to welcome new therapists and we now have a fantastic team of amazing, inspirational women that we are proud to also call our friends.

Those who have known us from the beginning have seen how much we have grown and evolved. This could not have ever happened without out fabulous team behind the scenes here supporting our crazy dreams and ideas and bringing them to life before our eyes.
Dave and Mike (Suzanne's Father) work their socks off on a daily basis with new building projects and ideas as well as the general day to day running and maintenance of The Old Coach House.
When not working you will find them in their garage having a well deserved brew and sweet treat, or over at The Summer House (Mike and Margaret's home) watching the footie with Mike's 3 dogs.
